When I was young, I was told the only way to make money in the stock market was to be a millionaire who could buy and sell thousands of stock shares. I thought it was a game owned by the rich and that I could not participate, so I didn't give it a second thought. Then, I discovered a streamer talking about making money by purchasing and selling options. Something I didn't know existed. After some quick research, it looked like something I could get into.
My journey in the stock market was much like everyone else: brutal and full of losses.
I didn't know what I was doing and I was too busy to use the little knowledge I had to trade effectively. I began researching the market intensely and tried hundreds of indicators to try to find an edge. I watched hundreds if not thousands of videos on how to trade and what indicators to use. Many had common themes about crossing moving averages, MACD crossing above or below the zero line, RSI overbought or oversold, volume profiles, fair value gaps, chart patterns, reading candlesticks - it was INSANITY. I was overwhelmed and engulfed in data overload. By the time all the stars aligned and I was able to check all the data points, the window to enter a position was over. I thought there had to be a better way.
I then began developing a bot in TradingView that could recognize all the data points occurring in an instant and just alert me. Sounds simple, right? Wrong. It turned out that there was more to it than just a few indicators. You had to have data. I spent over a year testing what data mattered and what didn't. I back-tested method after method until I finally found the combination that worked. The bot was a success, but there was still one major downfall: human emotion and risk management.
Even though I had a good success rate, there were still times I would second guess and hesitate. When I started to trust the bot, I ran into issue number two, risk management. I needed to figure out when to exit a position. So, I developed a methodology to go with the bot along with some rules that allow the bot to be used as a confluence and not just for signals.
There will always be future improvements to the bot, but for now, it has proven to be successful and I'm excited to offer it up as a service!
